These pages are about decendants of the seven children of Henry and Katrine
Busch-Wielage. Henry and Katrine were from Fladderlohausen and Gronloh in Germany.
These bergs were part of Osnabruck, Oldenburg, Hannover, Prussia, and finally,
Niedersachen, Germany. This poor agricultural area suffered through political
upheavals as France, Prussia and smaller political entities fought over territory
prior to Germany being formed. Henry's family surname was Wielage. Katrine's
family surname was Devermann. These families endured extremely difficult times
even after Henry and Katrine inherited a small farm. Their house burned down
after most of their children were born which led to their being forced into
giving up at least two to relatives. The property being too small to support
all the grown children and the compulsary military duty at age 17 caused their
first six children to immigrate to the United States of America in the late
1800/s. It was in the new land where they dropped "Wielage" and used
the surname Busch. The youngest daughter remained in Germany with the family
farm and gaststatte and kept the family name Busch-Wielage until her marriage.
