Joseph, Bob and Carmen's fourth child, was born September 10, 1953, in Travis Air Force Base, California.
Joe graduated first from Southern Illinois University and later from the University of Illinois with a veterinarian degree.
He married Janet Christine Henke (born July 5, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois) on February 28, 1981 in Dundee, Illinois. He practiced in Dundee until he and his family moved to St Charles, Illinois, where he established his own veterinary practice. In addition, Joe and Christine breed and show Whippets.
